Traverse of the Rhingos: Final Day
We awoke for the final day, no blown-away tents. No broken tents. Just broken, tired humans. Outside, the sky was all cloud; we were inside the clouds, and grey, misty fog greeted us. We packed up, no coffee, no breakfast, just a plan to get to our highest point in the mountains before the weather got worse. Little did we know, we would do just that. Rhingo Fach to Diffwys Awake and packed up, we headed out again, munching on trail snacks and admiring the views when the gaps

Traverse of the Rhingos: Day Two
We awoke, fresh from the night's sleep, and the lumpy ground was actually pretty spongy to sleep on. It made for a fairly comfortable night. While Dave made his fancy coffee, Sarah refilled her water at the lake. We had breakfast and got ready to start the day, while making the most of the scenes before us. Traverse of the Rhingo’s: Day One
Do you have that one friend who says to you, "Let’s go for a little hike - it will be fun?" But their indication of fun is 31-kilometer hike in the middle of rural Wales. Nowhere near civilisation. Well, that would be me, I am that friend. However, this time when I asked this, I had two wonderful friends who were just as keen as I was and said, "When do we leave?" Sarah and I decided to commemorate her leaving for New Zealand with a hike and wild camp, something we do best

Danielle’s Year in the Mountains V.2
Yes, it's February 28th when I am writing this, a late recap you could say of my year in the mountains, when the last one was published on the 30th Dec, 2023. My word, time flies, and a lot has changed in the last two years. However, I’ll provide a recap on the peaks in 2024 and then a recap of 2025 separately. Don't forget, like last year, click the little arrow to go through the images :) Craig Cerrig Gleisiad & Fan Frynych I started the year off nice and easy, with a sma

Coffee Shop Munro's
Yes, you read the title right... We approached a coffee shop on the Isle of Skye thinking we were destined to be going back to Glasgow a morning later. This ended up being the plan that changed and was probably one of the most fun parts of our holiday in Scotland. We sat in an adorable coffee shop both ordering a latte & cake, and I was convinced we would have enough time when we got back to Aviemore to do a walk in the Cairngorms. Upon researching walks, I happened upon a wa
