Welcome to the Dirty Sodden Backpackers!

Hey all! Danielle and Sarah here. Welcome to our blog, the Dirty Sodden Backpackers. We are here in the hopes of entertaining you all with our adventures, both solo and together, and everything else in between.

Sarah is the more 'experienced' one of the two of us. She recently introduced me (Dani) to wild camping, and she was lucky enough to grow up in the beautiful Bannau Brycheiniog. I, on the other hand, am fairly new to the adventuring life and spent time growing up in various parts of Northern England until I eventually moved to Wales.

So how did we meet?

Sarah and I met randomly while mountain biking on our local trails, and we have been friends ever since. We'd go mountain biking multiple times a week together to various different places across South Wales and England, until, of course, COVID-19 hit and slowed things down completely. We had been on many adventures up until that point and after, but never thought to document them until now. We both recently hit a wall and decided we needed to go on a big adventure to detox and escape the constraints of life. Time felt like it was moving too quickly, and we felt suffocated by our current lives, so I shouted "LET'S GO TO SCOTLAND" and that's how this blog was born.
